Part Number: AM5718
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5728
Hello,
I have a few questions about a system supporting both AM5718 and AM5728:
PMIC selection:
- Can TPS6590378 be used on a board which will support both AM5718 and AM5728? In the schematic checklist (processors.wiki.ti.com/.../AM57xx_Schematic_Checklist only TPS6590379 is listed as the supported PMIC configuration for both.
USB 3.0 is not used but both USB 2.0 (both USB1 and USB2) are used:
- What should be done with the USB 3.0 IO pins (AE12, AF12, AD11, AC11)? Can they be left unconnected? Should they be disabled explicitly in software?
- What should be done with the vdda_usb3 supply pin (W12)? Can this be tied off with a ferrite bead to any 1.8V supply?
MMC2 connected to an eMMC memory device:
- The data/cmd pull-up resistors are 47K on the AM5728 EVM, 49.9K on the AM5718 IDK and are not installed on the BBx15. What is the recommended solution for this interface?
High speed serial interfaces (HDMI/SATA/PCIE) not used:
- Can the IO pins (HDMI_CLOCK*, HDMI_DATA*, SATA_TX*, SATA_RX*, PCIE_RX*, PCI_TX*) be left unconnected?
- Can the ref clk pins (AH15, AG15) be left unconnected?
- Should any of these pins be disabled explicitly in software?
