Linux/TMS320DM368: gstreamer capture command to take composite PAL input

Part Number: TMS320DM368
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP5146, TVP7002

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

My bootargs setting:

setenv bootargs console=ttyS0,115200n8 rw dm365_imp.oper_mode=0 video=davincifb:vid0=OFF:vid1=OFF:osd0=480x272x16,4050K mem=48MB davinci_capture.device_type=4 vpfe_capture.cont_bufsize=12582912 davinci_enc_mngr.ch0_output=LCD davinci_enc_mngr.ch0_mode=480x272 root=/dev/nfs nfsroot=192.168.0.1:/home/ramkishore/targetfs ip=192.168.0.2:192.168.0.1:192.168.0.1:255.255.255.0

I want to capture composite input to file . As given in SDK guide, which caputes component input at 720P

This pipeline encodes H.264@1Mbps video captured from a component 720P input source:

target # gst-launch v4l2src always-copy=FALSE num-buffers=500 ! \
'video/x-raw-yuv, format=(fourcc)NV12, framerate=(fraction)30/1, \
width=(int)1280, height=(int)720' ! queue ! TIVidenc1 codecName=h264enc \
engineName=codecServer contiguousInputFrame=TRUE bitRate=1000000 ! queue ! \
filesink location=sample.264 -v

I wanted to caputure component 720*576 PAL input  so i changed after looking up in forums here

gst-launch -v v4l2src always-copy=FALSE num-buffers=500 input-src=Composite ! \
'video/x-raw-yuv, format=(fourcc)NV12, framerate=(fraction)30/1, \
width=(int)576, height=(int)720' ! queue ! TIVidenc1 codecName=h264enc \
engineName=codecServer contiguousInputFrame=TRUE bitRate=1000000 ! queue ! \
filesink location=sramdram.264 -v

but I get the following errors:

I guess its a setting problem. Encode and ecode via DMAI examples worked fine.

awaiting guidance.

  • Hi, we recommend you search the other gstreamer threads in this e2e forum. There are examples of gstreamer pipelines. Please also review the gstreamer pipeline examples provided in the DVSDK Software Developer's guide

    thank you
