AM5716: Event ID for EDMA channel transfer completion interrupt

Part Number: AM5716
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138,

Hello,

In my  application, I need to use EDMA to transfer data from McASP 1 and 2.  I will use channels 0, and 1 of EDMA to receive /send  data from/.to McASP1. channels 2 and 3 from/to McASP2.  I will need INT4 is trigered when channel0 receiving completed, and INT5 is trigered when channel 2 receiving completed.  I plan to set bit 0 of shadow region register 0  for channel 0(TCC#0) and set bit 2 of shadow region register 1  for channel 2(TCC#2), so I can have two separated data transfer completion interrupt. But I could not find the event ID for shadow region channel transfer completion in AM5716 document. I remember, in omap-l138, the event id  for EDMA channel transfer completion is 8.

is there a system event mapping table available just like omap-l138? or I need to do something else for mapping?

Thanks in advance!

Ron

  • Hi,

What software are you using? Linux or RTOS?
  • I am using RTOS, and I need event ID to triger INT4 and INT5 in rtos interrupt configuration.

I find this table in AM571x reference manual.

    IRQ_CROSSBAR_317 DSP1_IRQ_TPCC_ERR DSP1 DSP1 TPCC error interrupt
    IRQ_CROSSBAR_318 DSP1_IRQ_TPCC_GLOBAL DSP1 DSP1 TPCC global interrupt
    IRQ_CROSSBAR_319 DSP1_IRQ_TPCC_REGION0 DSP1 DSP1 TPCC region 0 interrupt
    IRQ_CROSSBAR_320 DSP1_IRQ_TPCC_REGION1 DSP1 DSP1 TPCC region 1 interrupt
    IRQ_CROSSBAR_321 DSP1_IRQ_TPCC_REGION2 DSP1 DSP1 TPCC region 2 interrupt
    IRQ_CROSSBAR_322 DSP1_IRQ_TPCC_REGION3 DSP1 DSP1 TPCC region 3 interrupt
    IRQ_CROSSBAR_323 DSP1_IRQ_TPCC_REGION4 DSP1 DSP1 TPCC region 4 interrupt
    IRQ_CROSSBAR_324 DSP1_IRQ_TPCC_REGION5 DSP1 DSP1 TPCC region 5 interrupt

should I map IRQ_CROSSBAR_319/320 to DSP1_INTC to get event ID?

I also see DSP1_INTC default mapping table

Table 17-3. DSP1_INTC Default Interrupt Mapping (continued)
IRQ Input Line  IRQ_CROSSBAR  Instance Number   IRQ_CROSSBAR Configuration Register IRQ_CROSSBAR  Default Input Index Default Interrupt Name DefaultInterrupt Source Description
    DSP1_IRQ_9 N/A N/A N/A CGEM_IRQ_9 CGEM Internal Interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_10 N/A N/A N/A CGEM_IRQ_10 CGEM Internal Interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_11 N/A N/A N/A CGEM_IRQ_11 CGEM Internal Interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_12 N/A N/A N/A CGEM_IRQ_12 CGEM Internal Interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_13 N/A N/A N/A CGEM_IRQ_13 CGEM Internal Interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_14 N/A N/A N/A CGEM_IRQ_14 CGEM Internal Interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_15 N/A N/A N/A CGEM_IRQ_15 CGEM Internal Interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_16 N/A N/A N/A TPCC_INTG EDMA CC global interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_17 N/A N/A N/A TPCC_INT0 EDMA CC region0 interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_18 N/A N/A N/A TPCC_INT1 EDMA CC region1 interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_19 N/A N/A N/A TPCC_INT2 EDMA CC region2 interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_20 N/A N/A N/A TPCC_INT3 EDMA CC region3 interrupt
    DSP1_IRQ_21 N/A N/A N/A FW0_FUNC_ERROR Firewall0 func access error
    DSP1_IRQ_22 N/A N/A N/A FW0_DEBUG_ERROR Firewall0 debug access error

the EDMA CC region0 interrupt in DSP_INTC is the same as DSP1 TPCC region 0 interrupt?  if so, is 17 the event ID for EDMA CC region0 interrupt?

there are system_EDMA, DSP1_EDMA and DSP_EDMA in AM5716, the only difference I see is the addresss. my application will be running on DSP core, so I use DSP_EDMA to transfer data from/to McASP1/2, is this correct?

    Thank you!

    Ron
