Hi All,

We're using AM5728 for our product.

Sometimes in the kernel logs through dmesg, we see below lines in the logs:

[ 8642.413882] palmas-gpadc 48070000.i2c:tps659038@58:gpadc: ADC start conversion failed

We use palmas-gpadc for the tps659038 PMIC.

QUESTION:

I was curious what is the cause of this errors in the kernel logs?

Do they harm anyways?

Divyeshkumar,

These two error messages are generated by the TPS659038-Q1 PMIC 12-bit Sigma-Delta General-Purpose Analog-to-Digital-Converter (GPADC). The cause of these error messages in the kernel log is unsuccessful conversion operation of the GPADC (gpadc_start_conversion() function fails). For how to fix these errors and how harmful are these errors, you should ask/post in the PMIC forum:

From AM572x device side, you need to double check your DTS file is correct, refer to the below pointers for example:
