Linux/AM3358: CPSW driver tuning for UDP performance

Hi I am using AM335x Processor SDK v04.02.00.09 and AM335x Starter kit v1.2B. We are trying to optimize the CPSW driver for UDP performance and we found that the information about adjusting desc_pool_size at this link does not apply to the latest SDK. The device tree changes have no effect on this and it is not possible to change the parameter using insmod. Please provide updated information for how to adjust desc_pool_size in the latest SDK.

Hi Rueben,

The link you posted does need to be updated to indicate how to pass the number of rx_descs to the cpsw driver. I will try to update this page by tomorrow.

Hi Ruben,

I updated the link to reflect how to modify the descriptors using the latest 4.02 SDK. The page also has an example of how to adjust the kernel UDP buffer size that should still be used in conjunction with the descriptor pool change.
