Communication is needed. Its preferred to do this as simple and fast as possible.
3 scenarios comes to mind:
1. SPI, high speed and simple to implement
2. Memory bus (is there Linux drivers for a simple implementation)?
3. Dual ported RAM (is there Linux drivers for a simple implementation)?
