New Linux Kernel not booting

Running on OMAP3530 EVM.  Migrating from dvsdk 3.00.02.44 to dvsdk 4.00.00.17.  Newly-built 4.00 x-loader and u-boot are already successfully loading from flash.  The new Linux uImage is on flash and gets loaded by the boot process, but halts after "booting the kernel".  Enabling "early printk" didn't give me anything.  Using the same bootargs, the old 3.00 Linux uImage loads perfectly fine.

Any suggestions on what I could try to get this working?
