AM3505: GPIO configuration

Part Number: AM3505

Hi,

I want to set GPIO_96 as an output and drive that pin high using JTAG

How can i do this or which section in the datasheet has the relevant information? Thanks

  • Hi,

First you need to do the pinmux. Check Table 4-1 in the AM35x Datasheet Rev. F to determine the pinmux mode you need (note that AM35x comes in two packages, so there will be differences). Next you should find the pinmux register. See section 6.4.4, 6.5.2 and Table 6-48 from the AM35x TRM Rev. C to find the padconf register address). Finally you should program the GPIO. This is explained in section 21 of the TRM.
  • Hi Biser,
Thanks for your clear advice, it wa so helpful
in the ARM infocenter it says to access JTAG SCAN_N needs to be the state but in BSDL file no such command is available
is there any documentation/application note describing how to access register (read/write) in AM3505 ZCN through JTAG
i am using third party JTAG emulator
  • Are you talking about boundary scan or register access? These are two different things. Direct read/write to registers through JTAG is supported in the Code Composer Studio. I cannot say if your emulator will work with it. You can ask CCS related questions on the dedicated forum: e2e.ti.com/.../81
