AM5706: Reference schematic questions

Part Number: AM5706
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22965, TPS51200

Hi Team,

My customer is planning to evaluate our AM5706. Schematic is on-going now and here comes two questions from customer, need you kindly check, thanks!

Below is the reference schematic that customer refer:

AM570x Reference schematic.pdf

1. For TPS22965 load switch, any suggestion for the CT value? If no special requirement, will keep default 22pF.

2. TPS51200 for DDR supply, can customer use 3.3V system supply instead using 3.3VIO supply as the Enable source? Any power sequence requirement must to follow here?

Thanks for your support!

Best regards,

Sulyn

  • The factory team have been notified. They will respond here.
  • Sulyn,

The TPS22965 load switch controls the DDR supply voltage.  PMIC_REGEN is a power sequencing control output that enables and disables the DDR supply voltage.  The value shown in the schematic is 220pF.  This value is a good starting value.  Once you have prototypes, you will need to verify that the power up sequencing AND the power down sequencing requirements are met.

Any 3.3V supply can be used for VIN on the TPS51200.  This has no impact on sequencing.  The EN pin to the TPS51200 is the critical enable for sequence requirements.

  • Just FYI - the DDR load switch is not needed and it may be skipped without harm. It is only used for the purpose of keeping DDR powered while the SoC is off and isolated but this is not a use case we support. You will still need the VTT regulator and the PMIC GPIO signal for it.
