AM4376: Pinmux tool ECAT_PRUSS1 issue

Hi team,

I am trying to use the PinMux Tool for the AM437x. The only peripheral I have added so far is the ECAT_PRUSS1 and within that I want to enable 4 of the edio_data_in[x] lines and 4 of the edio_data_out[x]. The moment I select at least 1 of each of the input and output, I am getting an error but looking at the pin allocations, I see no reason why I should have an error.

For example, first selecting edio_data_in0 and then edio_data_out0, I am getting a "Pin conflict" which says "T21 is not valid for ECAT_PRUSS1_IOSet_1" even though I haven't yet allocated T21 for anything else yet.

Any idea what is going on here?

That looks like a bug. I will file a ticket for the team to fix it in the future releases.

In the meantime, if you want to dump the results to generated files just configure the INs and OUTs one separately and merge the results of the files.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for confirming the bug. For each of the edio_data_in[x] and the edio_data_out[x], there is only one pinout option. Other than just avoiding selecting that pin for other peripherals, are you suggesting there is something better that we can do? Can you clarify what you mean by "merge the results of the files?"

Hi Akash,

You can configure the in[x]s signals first, dump the results, deselect the in[x]s, configure out[x]s, dump the results. Then just merge the dumped results, the export files are either a simple const struct or a csv, so an easy copy/paste would do the trick because currently, you cannot configure and dump both in/outs at the same time. At least, that was my original idea.
