Hello,

I have a customer who is planning to evaluate 66AK2Hx device with EVMK2H.

They did not have the EVM, yet.

Customer wants to remove the fan and heat sink temporarily and evaluate how the device get hot in their scenario.
Questions:
1) Is it possible to remove the fan and heat sink easily?
2) If the fan and heat sink are removed, the functionality of the EVM is not guaranteed?

Hi,

1). IT seems possible to remove the heat sink. It is held by 4 screws, and possibly a thermal conductive paste.

2). Yes, TI does not guarantee the behavior of the EVM if the heatsink is removed. They can check the Datasheet & the Thermal design guide(www.ti.com/.../sprabi3b.pdf ) before doing modifications to the board
