TIDEP0025: HIPERFACE/DSL and EnDat 2.1/2.2 platform

From the SItara perspective, we have the Industrial Drives package (Drives Package) as an add-on to our RTOS Processor SDK (RTOS Proc SDK).

These two software packages run on our AM437x IDK (IDK Tool Folder) board.

The User’s Guide for the Industrial Drives package is here: Drives Package User's Guide and the following diagnostics are included in the package:

• EnDat: EnDat 2.1 and 2.2 specific documentation
  • Should cover both 2.1 and 2.2

To my knowledge we do not have anything showing a HIPERFACE connection to AM437x. I am checking with the development team and will let you know if I am wrong.

The TI Designs mentioned above were written before the current RTOS SDK and Drives Package were created. So, the information in them is useful to describe our encoder implementations, however, the Industrial Drives Package User’s Guide is the best source for replicating our current diagnostics.

On the C2000 side, they have validated absolute encoder masters for EnDat22,  EnDat21, BiSS-C, Tamagawa, and SSI.

HiperfaceDSL master is not available on C2000 until a future device expected to be out next year.
