RTOS/AM5718: Problem creating non-OS project

Hi, guys

I am working with idkAM5718 board for its emac, and going to creat nonOS project of Cortex-A15 core.

I learn that example projects are generated by D:\ti\pdk_am57xx_1_0_9\packages\pdkProjectCreate2.bat file.

The problem is: I don't know how to create non-os project for A15, although there is comment saying that is available.

Hi,

With no-os, there is no SYSBIOS, no XDC, no .cfg file. So the source code can’t have any dependence with SYSBIOS, e,g. task creation, scheduling, etc... This only applies to a few simple driver example (e.g. GPIO), you can define marco #BARE_METAL for no OS test examples. Majority of driver examples still rely on RTOS. For EMAC driver, there is no example for no OS case, you can't create it with pdkprojectcreate script.

There is simple GMAC testing under diagnostics, this has no OS: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_RTOS_DIAG

Thanks for replying very much!

And there are another three questions:
1.Can I get any demostration doc or little bit more detailed comment for icss_emac(or gmac) example projects from anywhere? I am a newbee for rtos, reletive docs may help a lot.
2.Is it strongly recommended to develop driver with OS, although there are diagnose examples can be used to create no-os projects(manually)?
