AM5716: RTC wakeup signals

Hi,

In the "AM57xx Schematic Checklist" I see that if one wants to use RTC timer functional, Wakeup0 and Wakeup3 needs to pulldown to VSS. At the moment I can't see any reasons to do so.
We want use Wakup0 and Wakeup3 als GPIO. Will we face any functional limitation to RTC timer when not pulling down this two pins to VSS?

If you want to use RTC functionality, e.g. timekeeping function, both Wakeup_0 and Wakeup_3 must be pulled to GND.

Can you please go into more detail about those Wakup pins. Where can I find a description why to have those pins pulled to VSS?
I can only see the following in the TRM:

What is the Wakeup function in the RTC? So if I want to use the RTC functionality I can not use GPIO1_0 and GPIO1_3?

Hi,

Any further explanation to this topic is highly appreciated. I need to know whether I can use GPIO1_0 and GPIO1_3 while using the RTC for keeping time and date while fully powered. An external RTC (I2C) is used to keep time and date while power is off. Internal RTC is only used to have faster access to time and date and not using I2C all the time for this purpose.
As RTC only mode is not available with AM5716 I also need to know what the Wakeup function is used for.

Hi Patrick,

I've confirmed that this requirement only applies if the pinmux is activating the WAKEUP0/3 function. If these pins are muxed for a different function, they will not need to be pulled to VSS.
