Linux/TMDXIDK5728: USB flash drive and webcam not detected

Part Number: TMDXIDK5728

Tool/software: Linux

Hi All:

I am using am572x idk evm now,, and I have config the kernel for usb mass storage and pwc(for webcam).

But when I insert usb flash drive or webcam into usb1, nothing happens.

Is there something that i missed??

Thanks

  • What is Processor SDK version do you use?
  • I am using ti-processor-sdk-linux-am57xx-evm-04.02.00.09.

I have followed through steps mentioned here. processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_Linux_Getting_Started_Guide

Booting linux kernel from sdcard with pre-built image provided in the sdk above is ok now.

The usb flash drive is not detected for pre-built image, so I reconfigure the config for kernel.

After the kernel is compiled, I copy the files in /SDK installed/targetNFS/boot to rootfs/boot/ on sdcard.

But the result is still the same.

    .config file attached here 2110.config.txt

  • Sorry, the USB function is broken in Processor SDK v4.2.0.9 on AM572x IDK and AM571x IDK, due to a pinmux change for PPS in the device tree file. Please apply the patch attached below to revert the DT change which restores the USB function.

Subject: [PATCH] Revert "arm: dts: add cpts 1pps latch input pins"

    This reverts commit e16c3535b0e91be8968adbfb5979d755e49ee0a9.

The reverted commit changes USB1_DRVVBUS pinmux to gpio, which breaks
    the USB function.
