This is a generic question for most TI Sitara devices.
I need to know what licensing fees / royalties if any need to be paid in order to decode video on Sitara devices. Does anything have to be paid to the MPEG-LA?
Consider this scenario...
- - I develop a custom board with a Sitara device on it and sell this as part of my product.
- - My custom board is running Linux on the Sitara device and has the ability to decode H.264 video content (MPEG4) using one of the following methods. The use case would be training videos either stored locally in the filesystem or streamed over the internet.
- custom app, using TI codec engine directly
- using gstreamer
- using Web browser to decode streamed video.
- use Web browser to playback YouTube videos.
- For me as a company selling my product, do I have to pay any video decoder licensing fees? MPEG-LA?
- Are there any fees associated with using gstreamer in my product?
- Are there any fees associated with playback of YouTube videos?
Thanks
