Hi DK,
We are not very sure on our customer application and we believe that they have some other PCBs where they have some Ethernet ports, so this is not limited to 2 ports. So this daisy chain topology will be used with the intention of reducing cabling and installation costs.
However, our question is not exactly on the advantages of daisy chaining, but whether it is possible with AM437x and any other chips that we need to use (For e.g: Ethernet switch, buffer ICs etc).....?
Hi DK,
Please find the following link for Ethernet Daisy Chain communication:
Our topology is similar to the figure in the link.
Attached a whitepaper on this for any reference.
Currently we are using AM4377's internal Dual port Ethernet switch. For daisy chain, whether we can use the same or do we need it externally (or any other hardware component) ?
Hi Schuyler,
Thanks for your guidance. We will contact you in case if we have any queries in future.
