AM3357: 4GB SDHC card support

I have read 5052 26.1.8.5.2 System Interconnection of TRM.

Would like to clarify if AM3357 MMC0 can boot from a SDHC card of 4GB capacity?

Has anyone checked this in BBB?

Hi Biser,

yes AM335x does support that but

I would put my question in this way.

I would like to boot from MMC0 with a 4GB Card because i would like to use SDHC card on MMC0 for 2 purpose:
1.Boot from it 4GB SDHC card which should be primary boot device(Doable in Boot COnfig)
2.Log some user date in it and take it out after shutdown from OS.

The Key thing here is MMC0 doesn't boot from an SDHC/SD Card of 4GB capacity from TRM. correct?..
And MMC1 is not recommended to boot from SD card .by TRM

No, this is not correct. What you have referred is valid for eMMC memories, not for SD cards. Other than this, yes, MMC0 is the preferred interface for SD car boot, and boot from 4GB SD cards is fully supported.
