Linux/AM5728: PCIe EP issues with Windows7 PC

Hi everyone,

Now, I use the am5728-evm board. It works as EP mode, I insert it in widows 7 PC , the PC scan the am5728-evm board as unkown PCIE device. Then I generate a PCIE driver with windirver, after install the PCIE driver nomally , it displays that the device can not find enough resources to use (Code 12), the same error code as CY.
I download the linux evm sdk version the same as "training.ti.com/am57x-pcie-ep-demo-processor-sdk-linux displays. The version is "ti-processor-sdk-linux-am57xx-evm-03.02.00.05-Linux-x86-Install.bin" , "software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html", the am5728-evm board kernel configs as "processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Linux_Core_PCIe_EP_User's_Guide" .
How can I confirm the am5728-evm board works ok? If it works normal , how can I use the PCIE device in ep mode, if there is any example program ? If I need to change any configeration to make the PC driver works normal , please teach me .

Hi,

The error you get is specific to Windows 7. It is not related to PCIe or AM5728-EVM. The first release supported EP mode is Processor SDK 3.2.0.5, but you can use any release after that.

TI tested EP mode using 2 AM57x EVMs as described in the PCIe EP User's Guide. TI does not test EP mode against PCs. Windows PC has different enumeration requirement. Linux PC isn't tested against, but it should work after a rescan.

There was user in the forum who was able to get it working, but we don't have details other than what was posted in the forum.

The driver on windows pc maight has something wrong，I will confirm it later.
Now,I do not know how to use the pci-epf-test （EP）driver in my application software when am5728-board commucate with rc via PCIE.Can you give me some advices or is there any example demo programe that I can refer to？

I have solve the windows 7 pc blue screen problem when I install the PC driver.

There are some tips we need to config:

(1)BAR number and the size of BAR :the PC driver sets BAR0 and BAR1 ,but the am5728 pci-epf-test driver configs BAR0 --BAR5 , the BAR size needs to config same;

(2)The am5728 PCIE card needs to powerup berfore the PC powerup.
