Hi,

I purchased a board on Digi-Key last week and did some test on the board with original EtherCAT demo program.

I encountered the LEDs can't be controlled by TwinCAT 2. The LED status always are the same and unchanged.

Another, the value of Digital In bit7 (INDUS_INPUT7) is always '0'; others pin are be controlled. I checked the board schematics, the pin has be pull-high. Why?

Please help.

It appears you are using the old IASK 1.x EtherCAT software, which is not longer supported, see the announcement - e2e.ti.com/.../580869

Please try the latest PRU-ICSS EtherCAT release 1.0.5 available from software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html and its user guide is here - processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PRU_ICSS_EtherCAT

Hi,

I followed your comment to download a prebuilt firmware to test board, but unsuccessfully.

Copy pru_icss_ethercat_slave_prebuilt_01.00.05.00\applications\ethercat_slave_demo_arm\AM335x_release\app into TF card, then insert the card to TF socket of board.

After reset, I got below message and EtherCAT slave function can't workable.

Please help on this issue.

Wayne,

In addition to copying app, you also need update the bootloader MLO file in the card. The MLO is available (renamed) from pdk_am335x_1_0_8\packages\ti\starterware\binary\bootloader\bin\am335x-evm\gcc\bootloader_boot_mmcsd_a8host_release_ti.bin.

Hi,

I copied both MLO (C:\ti\C\packages\ti\starterware\binary\bootloader\bin\am335x-evm\gcc\bootloader_boot_mmcsd_a8host_release_ti.bin) and app file(Prebuilt) into SD card, but I still got the same LOG..

Where to download pdk_am335x_1_0_8 version you pointed? Or, you can share me these files?

Hi,

The same. it still can't run the app.

I copied prebuilt version - pru_icss_ethercat_slave_prebuilt_01.00.05.00\applications\ethercat_slave_demo_arm\AM335x_release\app.

Is it right for the board I purchase? or you can release right firmware version for the board to me?

I just confirm my board is without any H/W issue.

Wayne,

If you received the AM3359 ICE v2, that is the right board.

You may need first erase the default app and bootloader in flash with the tool pdk_am335x_1_0_8\packages\ti\starterware\tools\flash_writer\spi_flash_writer_AM335X.out see the section "Preparing Flash Device" of the wiki - http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Processor_SDK_RTOS_BOOT_AM335x/AM437x#Boot_Modes
