Hello,

I am a senior in university working with the TMDSLCDK138 to do some audio processing. I was wondering what the best way would be to implement a UART communication on the TMDSLCDK138 would be. I need the data sent over the UART to change the effects on the DSP processor while it is running.

Hi Gordan,

Do you mean communicate with the OMAP-L138 LCDK via uart:
PC <-> uart <-> OMAP-L138 LCDK
or you want to establish board to board communication over uart:
OMAP-L138 LCDK <-> uart <-> OMAP-L138 LCDK

I want to have the OMAP-L138 communicate with a microcontroller. In our case, an Arduino. So something like this:

OMAP-L138 LCDK <-> uart <-> Arduino

Hi,

You can check the UART examples in Processor SDK RTOS:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_RTOS_UART
They are focused on transferring data from serial console to uart, but could be modified to fit your needs.

The LCDK schematics are located here:
www.ti.com/.../getliterature.tsp

The UART TRANCIEVER part of the schematic is located on page 5.
