TMS320DM368: TMS320DM368:JPEG encoding noise

Hello,

We are using JPEG Sequential Encoder Build ID: 01.00.00.12.

When JPEG encoding is performed with a pixel size in the height direction which is not a multiple of 8, noise appears on the bottom line of the fraction.

Is there a way to avoid this?

This image is the bottom line when encoding images of 1050 lines.

Please use multiple of 8.

It is not possible to avoid this

The problem of multiples of 8 should be corrected with JPEG Sequential Encoder Build ID: 01.00.00.12.

Description of Release Notes:
SDOCM00091259 Bottom Row corruption when image height is non multiple of 8/16 and quality is high.

Is this description incorrect?

Do you have any plans to fix it in the future?

I have the same question.

Release note says below.

"New In This Release,
• Fixed Defects: SDOCM00091259 and SDOCM00091261.
• Device ID check has been removed.

SDOCM00091259 : Bottom Row corruption when image height is non multiple of 8/16 and quality is high."

And specification of JPEG Encoder says below.
"Arbitrary image width and height (minimum width and height requirement of 97 and 16 other than 3 pixels, respectively) supported."

Is this SDOCM00091259 not fixed at "Build ID: 01.00.00.12" yet?

hello,

When performing JPEG encoding of 1050 lines, we increased buffer area to capture 1680 x 1050 captured images by 6 dots below and secured 1680 x 6 area as alignment area.
When this alignment area was filled with black data of YUV 422 and JPEG encoding of 1050 lines was done, the noise of Bottom Row disappeared.

So I have a question.
1)Even if the JPEG encoder specifies a line that is not a multiple of 8, does it capture and encode image data up to a multiple of 8?

2)If so, in this case, did it take in random data that was not YUV 422 for + 6 lines and it became noise?

Please tell us your opinion whether this solution is problematic.
