TMS320C6678: Pinout for Hyperlink Connector

Part Number: TMS320C6678
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSEVM6657

Hello, I am looking at the schematics for the TMS320C6678 EVM on page 29 the HyperLink Connector and pins C4 and C5 have polarity that does not match the signals on document: Technical Reference ManualSPRUHG7 TMDXEVM6657L/LE page 45.

I was also looking at the schematics for the TMDSEVM6657 SCHEMATIC page12 to see another HyperLink connector and that schematic and signals match the SPRUHG7 document. I'm just trying to verify the pinout and signals names for a HyperLink connector.

Can anyone explain why the Hyperlink connectors on the TMS320C6678 EVM and the TMDSEVM6678 are slightly different?

Thanks,

Joe

  • Hi Joe,

First of all I want to clarify that on page 29 of the TMDSEVM6678 you have the Hyperlink connector:

On page 12 of the schematics you have the Hyperlink signals on the TMS320C6678 SoC part (the actual device balls), not another hyperlink connector:

You are correct that SPRUHG7 (TMDSEVM6678 TRM) has different pin map from the HYPERLINK connector shown on page 29 of the schematic:

You can see that C4, C5, C7, C8 D7 and D8 signals differ from the schematics (page 29). SPRUHG7 is wrong. You should refer to the TMDSEVM6678 Technical reference manual provided on Advantech website:

See page 36, it shows the correct HYPERLINK connector pin map, which corresponds to the TMDSEVM6678 schematic (page 29):

    Best Regards,
