Could you please help?

I'm looking for additional information on the ASIC ID listed on page 2702 of SPRUGR0B.PDF (TRM). Table 24-12 detail is confusing:

a) Where is the structure of the Device Identification information defined? "Device Identification" shows up in the document a couple times, but don't see it referenced as 7 bytes in length.

b) If I'm booting from UART, what's in the two "Reserved for non-GP devices" blocks? Are they just ignored if I'm using a GP device?

c) What kind of CRC is there? Why does it say "Size [bytes]" is 11, but in the CRC description it is listed as "(4 bytes)"?

I can't seem to find any of this information...can you please point me to additional information?

2) AFAIR they exists but doesn't contain valid data. AFAIR these sections just contains 0 for GP-devices.

3) The CRC is 4 bytes, but there are two CRCs. One for GB and one non-GP part (AFAIR), as well as an ID, size and a fixed field. Please as well see https://gforge.ti.com/gf/project/flash/scmsvn/?action=browse&path=%2Ftrunk%2Fomapflash%2Fhost%2Fpheriphalboot.c&annotate=5 for further information...

I very much appreciate you taking the time to respond Soren, and it was good information.

But unfortunately, my customer has requested to see documentation describing these fields. Can you or someone, please point me toward the formal TI documentation detailing the information required to fill out Table 24-12 of the AM35x TRM?

Hi Andy,

You are welcome. I unfortunately can't help you with an official TI document with the information. AFAIR it's specified in an (internal) document which you might be able to obtain from TI under NDA. Until you (hopefully) get it, please use the code as a reference :-)
