AM5726: DSP voice libraries support

Hi,

I am working on a voice based application where I need VOLIB and AER Libraries to be integrated with, I tested these Libraries on TMS320C5517 fixed point DSP. Now I need to implement the same on Sitara AM572x processor running on Linux. From the release information of these libraries I can find that VOLIB is supported on

C55x/ C64x+ /C66x processors

and AER is supported on

28x/55x/62x/64x/64x+/67x/67x+/674x processors

I can also find that Sitara AM572x consist an DSP subsystem with TMS320C66x. Hence even though Sitara AM572x runs on Cortex-A15 core, since it is having C66x as DSP subsystem is it possible to use VOLIB and AER libraries along with Sitara AM572x running on linux?

Yes, you can use AER and VOLIB On AM572x C66x cores. Please note that these libraries are not included by default in the Processor SDK as voice libraries are not utilized by our wider software developer community. so you will need to install the libraries separately.

When running ARM Linux, to run optimized library code on the DSP, we provide several IPC mechanism that allows ARM to offload commute to slave cores which have been described here:

OpenCL provides the most level of abstraction and is an API based interface to offload functionality to the DSP core. There are several examples in Processor SDK Linux that demonstrate the use for libraries like DSPLIB, OpenCV and Linalg:

IPC interface is suited for developers who are comfortable to use both ARM Linux and DSP RTOS programming and provides the greatest flexibility to allow for integration of not just compute but also peripheral operations to slave cores:
