AM3352: Crypto support

Hello,

My customer is currently implementing a design with the AM3552 ARM micro-controller which works well, but currently, neither they nor their customer is using the internal crypto off-load functionality. This is mostly due to a lack of drivers and documentation from what they being told. Could someone please point us to the relevant materials? they not looking for production-level drivers, just some examples and/or documentation to understand what is there and how to access it.

What software is used? Linux? RTOS?

"Linux or FreeBSD. We are not expecting completely finished drivers for FreeBSD. Those can be developed if we have the relevant information, or other drivers (Linux?) to look at as examples. We really just need the information. "

Shahaf,

If the customer uses Processor SDK Linux and their application uses openssl, the crypto operation is already off-loaded to the crypto accelerator. How the customer checked it is not off-loaded?

Hi Bin,

Thanks for your respone. i have checked it with the customer. The issue is that there is no documentation to develop they own drivers for something other than Linux. They can get some information from the SDK Linux, but not all that they would like. For instance, how would they use the hardware RNG? Is that implemented in the SDK?

AM335x crypto addendum that details the crypto modules is a NDA only document, please contact TI Rep to initiate NDA process. Once NDA is signed, we will release AM335x crypto addendum via secure portal.

AM335x Linux crypto driver documentation is available with Processor SDK documentation at : http://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/docs/04_03_00_05/linux/Foundational_Components.html#crypto

We do not support crypto driver for TI-RTOS

Yes, the hw rng driver is in the Linux kernel - drivers/char/hw_random/omap-rng.c
