NDK 2.0 low throughput on C6748 DSP (OMAP L138 EVM)

Hi,

I'm using LOGIC OMAP L-138 EVM. I am using only the C6748 DSP SOM and running the NDK 2.0 stack. When i run the Sample NDK projects for NDK performance measurement, i'm getting TCP/IP throughput of around 15 Mb/sec. When i enquired the LOGIC EVM vendor about this low throughput, they suggested that, the problem could be with the low level network driver and suggested to post a query here. I request you to kindly advice the workarounds to get a better TCP/IP throughput?

thanks,

Sram

  • Hi,

This forum is for WinCE BSP running on various TI chips (Omap35x; AM35x; AM37x; Omap-L etc). Seems like even though you are using OMAP-L your question is specific to NDK 2.0 running on DSP. Options:

    1. There must be support information available on the site that you downloaded the NDK 2.0 package from and I suggest that you use that avenue so that right people can respond (this forum is followed only by WinCE developers).

    2. I don't know anything about NDK 2.0. Is it a Linux or BIOS package for the DSP? Depending on your response I can move it to appropriate forum.

  • thanks for the response.

NDK 2.0 is Network stack based on DSP BIOS on DSP (C6748).

I'm sorry about the wrong forum i have posted this query. Please move this to appropriate forum.

  • Are you using BIOS 5.x?

If so, please check your cache configuration to make sure you have L2 cache enabled and also check the MAR bits.

This article has some related info (not your board or app, but info still applies)

  • I`m sure it`s a level 2 cashe issue.

I had the same trouble until I tuned on full usage of the L2 cashe
