I do not know if it is suitable to post this question in this forum. If it is not suitable, which forum can I post this?

I want to know if the linux4.9.0 driver tlv320aic3x.c support tlv320aic34, and if it support, how should I write .dts file for aic34?

Steve wilson said I have to treat the device as two separate AIC3106s, does the AIC34's register completely compatible with AIC3106?

Hi Ynng,

The Linux 4.9.x driver tlv320aic3x.c supports TLV320AIC34 codec but there is something specific. As you know TLV320AIC34 codec has 4 channels and it is divided into 2 separate I2C slave devices containing separate addresses. For more details refer to TLV320AIC34 datasheet section 9.5 Programming at:
www.ti.com/.../slas538b.pdf
Therefore you should configure TLV320AIC34 codec as 2 separate codes each one with 2 channels.

Hi, I have another question, I now use the TLV320AIC34 to achieve 4-channel mono audio output, but many designs like AM335x output stereo audio. This will occupy two DACs and will not achieve the effect of 4 channels mono audio output.

If one DAC route to one channel mono audio, how to designe the schematic? Should HPLOUT_A, HPLOUT_B, HPROUT_A, HPROUT_B be connected to a Stereo jack, Other HPLCOM_A, etc. hanging unconnect? And the HPLOUT_A connect to the Stereo jack's L and R for mono audio output?
