DVI to RGB666 LVCMOS

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90C241

Hello Guys,

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this and if not I honestly appologise.

What I need is to get an ordinary DVI output from a laptop and process it so that I can feed it into DS90C241 (LVDS serializer).
The Input of the serializer is a RGB666 signal with LVCMOS voltage levels.

I believe I must first need to, somehow (graphic processor), convert the laptop output to something equal or smaller than 800x480 (application limitations) and change the color depth from 24/32 bits to 18 bits (RGB666).
Then maybe get a transceiver to change whatever physical layers voltage values I get out of the graphic processor to LVCMOS levels.

Do you have ANY ideia what I will need in order to do this?
Thank you very much for any input you can give me!!!

Note: My requirement is that THIS serializer MUST be used so please even if you suggest another method (which I would be always grateful to hear about) keep in mind that i NEED to use this serializer. (Unless you can get the same output from something much better..)
