Hi,

I tried sensor firmware over the air update using Linux(Ubuntu) machine.Now, I'm trying to replicate the steps for sensor firmware over the air update using BeagleBone Black and I'm facing problem in installing the SDK.

May I know whether I could progress using BBB for OTA upgrade of sensor firmware?It would be also great if you could help me in the process.

What is this OAD software? What are these sensors? What issues do you face? What software is running on the BBB? Which version?
Please provide complete details of your use case.

I tried initially dev.ti.com/.../native-oad.html for OAD using Linux machine.
Now I'm following this elinux.org/Beagleboard:3.2_SDK_On_BeagleBone_Black for SDK installation and trying to replicate the above steps using BBB.

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 version on 64-bit machine.Since BBB supports 32-bit, I installed the SDK, downloads.ti.com/.../ti-sdk-am335x-evm-08.00.00.00-Linux-x86-Install.bin which supports 32-bit and added support for 64-bit machine to install on Ubuntu machine and boot using the SD card.I'm stucked here since it says that it supports only Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04.

The SDK you use is obsolete and no longer supported. Please move to the new Processor SDK: www.ti.com/.../PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X

Thank you for the suggestion.
I have tried the new processor SDK initially and it had problem in SD card booting.(also the website says, the.bin file only supports 64-bit)

Jaminy,

Latest AM335x TI PSDK can be installed on Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit and then can be used with AM335x BBB board.

For how to create bootable SD card, refer to the below doc:

Thank you Pavel for the suggestion.

I have installed the latest version of AM55x SDK on Ubuntu16.04 64-bit and tried those steps mentioned for booting the SD card.

I haven't found any change after booting the BBB.How do I verify the installation?

May I also know whether AM335x SDk installation would help in the OTA upgrade using BBB or I have to install TI 15.4 stack linux SDK on BBB(I couldn't install it either since it says that it cannot execute binary file)?

I haven't found the clear steps for OTA upgrade using BBB in the documentation, .

In this forum (AM335x Sitara) we can help you with installing and using PSDK v4.03 on BBB. If you have more questions regarding PSDK v4.03 installation, let me know.

Regarding OAD and TI 15.4-Stack, you should ask/post in the below e2e forum:

What changes exactly you are expecting to find?

You should have successful boot up till user space. You should also have BeagleBone Black messages in the boot log.
