Hello, I am trying to find a PHY for the 10GIGE ports on the 66AK2H14 device and have found a TI part TLK10034. I know the ARM+DSP interface with XFI and the datasheet for the TLK10034 only states, "The device can also be used for optical physical layers (like 10GBASE-SR or 10GBASE-LR) by interfacing to optical modules requiring SFI or XFI electrical signaling." on page 156. Can anyone comment if this will be okay?

    Hi Joe,

    If you're asking if you can use the TLK10034 device with the 66AK2H14 SoC, then yes it should be possible, see www.ti.com/.../spruho3a.pdf , Section 1.2 Industry Standards Compatibility:

    •Ten Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE): Supports the following electrical interfaces:
    – Supports XFI SFF INF-8077i spec (no SFP/SFP+)for 10Gb
    – Supports Serial-GMII (SGMII) Specification for 10/100/1000Mb
    – Supports 10GBase-KR Specification for 10Gb

    As for the statement in TLK10034, it says: Interface to Backplanes, Passive and Active Copper Cables, or SFP+ Optical Modules.
