TMS320C5505: About PID/VID issue

Hi Sir

we used C5505 for development and have some issue about TI PID/VID.

After checking below link, we know " Some 55x bootloaders can support booting from USB. and the VID=0x0451 and PID=0x9010 which is fixed in the bootloader."

If we use external flash for booing in C5505, can we use TI VID/PID in our product?

Hi Yimin,

No, you cannot use TI's VID and PID for your product. The phrase you mentioned in your post meant that you will need to TI's VID and PID only for boot from USB which you will need a program to feed the boot image via USB port.

Any customer USB product will need to have their own VID and PID allocated by usb.org.
