AM4378: SanDisk iNAND 7250 support

HI,

In my project I need to write video file on eMMC in real time.

To do this I need 30 MB/s of sequential write data rate then normal 4GB eMMC aren't usable.

I found the Sandisk iNAND 7250 , 8GB, 40MB/s that it seems to be compatible with Sitara:

3,3V , HS200 interface ...

The eMMC must also do Linux boot.

Someone can confirm to me that iNAND is compatible with requested performances ?

Hi,

AM437x devices support up to 384Mbit/sec (48MByte/sec) in MMC mode 8-bit data transfer. However performance under Linux is much slower, see processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_Linux_Kernel_Performance_Guide for reference.

another aspect of my question is the hardware compatibility .... is it possible to use "iNAND" Sandisk eMMC ?

I think that the main infos are :

Core and I/O Voltage: 3,3V

8,4,1 bit bus width

e.MMC specification ver 5.1 HS400

Variable clock frequencies of 0-20 MHz, 0-26 MHz , 0-52 MHz (high-speed), 0-200 MHz SDR (HS200), 0-200 MHz DDR (HS400)

I think that HS200 at 48 MHz with 8 bit bus match with AM437x specifications, is it true ?

Yes, this is compatible with AM437x.
