AM5728: Android 3G/4G support

I want to support 3G/4G modules,but the system cannot support 3G/4G mode,so can you provide the development guide for me ?

The 3G/4G modules use USB ports.

The SDK version :ti-processor-sdk-android-am57xx-evm-04.00.00.04

We do not support 3G/4G on the Android SDK.

The original android source code is to support 3G/4G, but I think your SDK is to simplify it.

I have found a porting guide for the AM335X 3G module, but I want the AM57xx platform.

Hello Weijie,

I've been told the current releases of Android don't include certain parts that are critical to enabling 3G/4G; those parts of Android were included in the 2013 Android release described in that wiki. The expert who knows about the specific differences is on vacation this week, but I will try to get him to comment next week.

Can you clarify "but the system cannot support 3G/4G mode" .

Did you try connecting a USB based 3G modem and seeing any failures? It will be good to know what the failures are and what USB configuration and mode did you attempt using.. ( with log )

Just curious to know what the failures are and if there is any low level driver issues with USB. We can investigate low level driver issues and component/unit stage.

Adding additional information on top of nick's suggestion

1. Our Android or Linux SDKs dont integrate a full modem solution.

2. Our HW platform are not shipped with a specific modem recommendation.

Customers/OEM in the past have integrated modem on their custom SDK and platforms on top of TI SDK package.
