Hello!

I am learning about EtherCAT for a while and I successfully fired EtherCAT slave using manuals from TI. Now I would like to fire EtherCAT master on AM3359. I fired Acontis master stack but it's demo of commercial version and to be honest it's quite expensive. My question is - do you know some open source implementations of EtherCAT master stack for AM3359?

I appreciate any help.

thank you for your answer. I can see that SOEM runs under e.g. Linux. Please, correct me if I am wrong but should I fire Linux on TMDSICE3359 and then SOEM on it?

Hi,

Using the TI Linux SDK you probably can write an application level EtherCAT master. There look to be examples and a possible stack at this website that Paula shared, it provides source as a starting point. I must mentioned that TI has not tried this stack and currently has no plans to my knowledge to support this Linux EtherCAT Master stack on the AM335x class processor.

I need to point out that the TI Linux SDK SystemD based filesytem is going to launch several network deamons that will send out discovery packets on whatever EtherCAT network interface you choose. These discovery packets can impact EtherCAT cycle times.
