Hi,

I am new to TI dsp processor, I have an FMC667 card with TMS320C6678 processor on it. I want to interface it with FPGA KINTEX KC705 board. I have done basic programs on code composer studio 6.2, still i am confused how to proceed with EMIF interfacing between FPGA and the board, if anybody has done similar kind of stuff, please help me. if anybody can suggest me some example projects of communication establishment between FPGA and the DSP board specially using EMIF interface, it will be of great help.

Hello!

C6678 has EMIF16 interface, and probably you may try to setup some parallel communication similar to one described in https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/application_notes/xapp753.pdf.

Have to remember, that is 16 bit interface running at 1/6 of core clock, and each transaction is multicycle. Having Kintex, which is above both Artix and Spartan in 7th series, decision to have so slow link to so powerful and pricey FPGA looks somewhat strange. Please skim through https://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/c6000_multi-core_dsps/f/639/t/124251, perhaps you change you requirements and opt for serial link.

Hi,

To use the EMIF interface you have to make sure that power and clock and domains are ON and configure the write and read setup, strobe and hold times. Once you read or write to one of the EMIF addresses, the EMIF peripheral will take care of activating data and chip enable signals. Hi,

For TI 6678 EVM, we have EMIF16 interface connected to a NAND flash, the source code is under Processor SDK RTOS packages:
ti\platform\evm6678l\platform_lib\src. You can refer to it for your FPGA connection.
