Hello,

using (among others) the DSPLIB examples, I'm trying to write my own code for an OMAP-L137 EVM board. I find it /extremely/ difficult to get a proper API documentation or some reference documents. I've fond enough to have some understanding of DSP/BIOSLINK and DSP/BIOS from all the SPRUs, but now I'm completely stuck: I can't find any documentation for the CMEM API.. Maybe I am spoiled from linux man and info pages, but I think it is really hard to collect all the Information that I need as a beginner...

I've found http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CMEM_Overview but it was no help.

Could someone please tell me where I can find the CMEM documentation?

What DVSDK version are you using with your OMAP-L137 EVM?

The CMEM module comes with a header file interface/cmem.h which has a description of the API. It's not a very complicated module with only a few calls to make.

However, if you are doing a "pure" dsplink application (no Codec Engine), you may want to use the POOL module in DSPLink which has similar functionality.

API docs are typically distributed with the product. CMEM is a part of the Linux Utils product - in the Linux Utils Release Notes, there is a "Documentation" section with several links, one of which is to the API Reference Guide. Also available online here.

I've also updated the Linux Utils Roadmap article with a link to these APIs.

Finally, this CMEM FAQ shows some key differences between CMEM and POOL that may help you decide which is the best option for you.
