DVSDK 4.00 Generally Available (GA) release available for download

The Generally Available (GA) release of DVSDK 4.00 is now available for download at:

This release supports OMAPL138, TMS320DM3730, OMAP3530 and TMS320DM365 EVMs, and adds the following features compared to previous DVSDK releases:

  • GStreamer is updated and integrated in the kit as opposed to being a separate download.
  • Qt/Embedded is integrated in the kit for GUI support.
  • The Matrix application launcher is provided as part of the kit.
  • All software packages, excluding the CodeSourcery GCC toolchain, are integrated in one unified installer.
  • The Getting Started Guide has been expanded upon and is now called the Software Developers Guide.

For TMS320DM365 specifically:

  • The DVSDK demos are updated with the following new features:Audio encode/decode support
  • Replacement of the remote-control-based DVSDK demo interface with a mouse-based QT interface
  • The H264 "Platinum" codecs are included in the kit.
  • Utility for creating bootable SD cards is provided.
  • GStreamer includes support for 720P MP4 file playback.

For OMAP3530/TMS320DM3730 specifically:

  • DSP edge detection demo has been included.
  • The DVSDK demos now use a Qt/Embedded based GUI and is driven by touch screen for LCD output, or mouse input for TV or DVI output.
  • The C6Run tool has been included for easy programming of the DSP
  • C6Accel has been added for easy access to DSP accelerated functions.

For OMAPL138 specifically:

  • The C6Run tool has been included for easy programming of the DSP
  • Qt based DSP Fractal out-of-box demo using C6Run has been included
  • C6Accel has been added for easy access to DSP accelerated functions.
  • DSP Benchmark demo using C6Accel has been included.
  • Updated PSP version to enable SD card boot.

Some of these features are new vs. the DVSDK 4.00 beta which is deprecated by this release. Please report any issues in this forum.
