I am a new user of the TMS320DM648 digital media processor. I have a project to develop a multi camera real time video streaming into a computer's PCI bus. For this purpose my customer has provided me with a TMS320DM648 DVDP. I have set up the all the software, configured the EVM board with 4 surveillance cameras, ran the demo software standalone, and also using the CCStudio. In addition I went through a good portion of the CCStudio tutorial in the help menu. Everything works.
Now its time for me to develop the streaming video application. My problem is that I am having difficulty figuring out where to start. This is a very powerful (and therefore complex) system, there are lots of reference documents that I have skimmed through with so much info that it is hard to retain all of it. The TMS320DM648 DVDP Getting Started Guide that came with the kit, section 4.2 Rebuilding the Demo Target Software states "...This document does not discuss in detail how to modify these applications." My question is then, is there a document that provides such details?
What about training? I see that there is an upcoming workshop: In Depth C6000 Embedded Design Worshop using BIOS. Also, the Greenhill MULTI software webinar. If you have specific thoughts on how to climb the learning curve please let me know. I would like to get back to my customer as to the most efficient way to do so.
