DM365: SPI boot mode support under UBL

Do we have version of UBL that support SPI boot on DM365? The latest version from PSP does not seem to support it. Thanks.

Yes. We have SPI UBL on DM365.

Not sure why, but I don't see the code in the latest release:

http://arago-project.org/files/releases/davinci-psp_3.x.0.0-r37/sources/flash-utils-davinci.tar.gz

I can send the code if you need it.

Hi Gaurav

We need to implement SPI UBL on DM365 as well - will it be possible for you to make the code and any supporting documentation available to us?

Also - will the UBL be able to load U-Boot from SPI as well?

Yes, UBL will download UBoot from SPI. I am working on to make an official release for the UBL.

I do not have an estimated date for the release yet. If you want a pre-release, please contact your local TI sales office. They will work out the details.

Hi,

I have the similar requirement for for a differnet processor (DM6467). I want to boot UBL, UBoot from SPI flash memory on DM6467 processor. Can you please suggest me what changes I need to do in UBL and UBoot source code?

Krunal,

For UBL and uBoot, you will have to write a driver that can read from the SPI. For flashing into SPI, write functionality is also required.

Thanks for the reply. I have few more queries:

Is it supported in UBL/UBoot for DM6467?
Is there any utility available by TI or Open source which using which I can flash UBL/UBoot/uImage to SPI flash?

1. No its not supported in UBL for DM6467. Please post a message on the linux forum for UBoot/Linux implementation/questions.

2. You can download sample/test code from Spectrum Digital website (http://support.spectrumdigital.com/boards/evmdm6467/revf/) which can be modified to flash the code.
