Hello team,

my customer has done a design with 2 chips cascade based on AWR1243.

The application is Radar-based ADAS.

It wants to transfer RAW DATA (via CSI-2 port) to PC (for processing) in the fastest way possible, perhaps using a Sitara processor which have two CSI-2 port like AM5716 he will able to transmit the raw data directly to PC.

Please, do you have any suggestions about it, Thanks

The customer main request is to be able to read the RAW data that the AWR1243 produces via CSI port (two ports in parallel) then to run a computing process on top of that using the PC.

Basically, use the development kit for the bridge purpose.

Shai,

The AM571x CSI interface can be used to interface the AWR1243 CSI. Note that the AM571x family has 2 CSI interfaces - One 4 lane and one 2 lane.

Once you have the data into the AM571x you would need to consider how to bring the data out to the PC. What kind of data rates are you looking for here?

Piyali, the AWR1243 around need 1200-1600Mbps per CSI-2 Port, a total of 2400-3200Mbps for two AWR1243 chips in parallel.
In addition, the customer looking to execute a preliminary FFT process up to a third order in the AM571x devices using the C66x DSP core, in order to reduce the raw data so it could be transferred to the PC via USB2 or EtherNet/IP even PCI express could come in an account.

Shai,

Top level this is possible as the CSI 4 lane can be set to 2.4 Gbps from the AWR1243 and the CSI 2 lane be set to 1.8 Gbps. This is coming from the fact that AWR1243 when operating at 4 lanes can go up to a maximum 600 Mbps per lane and in 2 lane mode can go up to 900 Mbps per lane.
