Linux/AM3354: NMI issue

Hi,

I am trying to implement touch button driver which is connected to NMI pin. Due to some hardware assembly issue, NMI pin is grounded and it is generating interrupt continuously and device is getting stopped booting

Is there any way to ignore/handle the continuous interrupts at boot time from NMI pin...?

Hi,

No, NMI is level sensitive. The only way to remove the continuous interrupt is to disconnect the pin from GND and pull it up with a resistor to VDDSHV6.

Regarding NMI Interrupt, Is it possible to monitor the NMI interrupt from kernel thread...?

Hi Babu,

Yes, I think it is possible to monitor NMI/EXTINT interrupt from kernel. This interrupt should appear in /proc/interrupts. See below e2e threads for more info:

Babu,

For reading INTC registers in kernel, you can use intc_readl() function which invokes readl_relaxed() function. Refer to the INTC driver for reference:

linux-4.9.69/drivers/irqchip/irq-omap-intc.c
