Issue on installing DVSDK4.00 for DM365

I encountered the same problem with the SDK for OMAPL138 on my german language Ubuntu System. Is there any other way apart from changing the system language to make the installer give helpfull mesages ?

DVSDK 4.0 installers does not support language selection, we may look into future release to see if we best we can add language selection.

Hello,

I've just read that this DVSDK release only supports Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 32-bit as host.

What about the newer Ubuntu 10.10 ? Is it possible to use it?

Of course it is, but its not tested. Some of the system-setup-scripts may not work so you have to do these steps by yourself.

You can easily edit the one setup script that checks your version.

It is located in: $DVSDK/bin/setup-host-check.sh

All you need to do is put in the name of your Ubuntu version.

For Ubuntu 10.10 you should find the line that reads:

if [ "$host" != "[codename]" ]; then

and change it.

For Ubuntu 10.10 that would be: 

if [ "$host" != "maverick" ]; then

I've been trying to get DVSDK running on my Ubuntu 10.10 system, and would like to make the change you mentioned (changing if [ "$host" != "[codename]" ]; then to if [ "$host" != "maverick" ]; then.  However, I only have one setup script pertaining to DVSDK: dvsdk_dm365-evm_4_01_00_09_setuplinux.  Do I need the source code instead of this install script, or is there something else I'm missing?  The install script I have just complains that I don't have Ubuntu 10.04 and exits.

I think previous post was refering to update scripts post installation.  And to install DVSDK on unsupport host please refer http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DVSDK_4.x_FAQ#How_to_install_DVSDK_4.01_on_unsupported_host  and  after installing you may need to update setup script for the check discussed in previous post.
