Linux/AM5718: HDMI output issue

Part Number: AM5718

Tool/software: Linux

Hi everybody

we have got an issue regarding HDMI with a new board mounting AM5718,

when displaying on a Toshiba HD TV (mod. 40L1334DG).

What happens is that screen blanks out after approximately 40s,

signal and clock are present (oscilloscope verified) and in fact

by pressing on remote controller "refresh button" the image appears

again but disappears after the same time.

We have rt-kernel v. 4.9.45 and for compatibility reasons with

user-space apps, we use omapfb but if we compile the kernel with omapdrm

support, the test succeeds, i.e. image does not disappear. So it

seems clear that this behaviour is related to omapfb, I am studying

the differences between omapfb and omapdrm regarding HDMI management

but I have not found a solution so far.

What am I missing out ?  what can be checked ?

thank you very much

regards

Carlo
