Hello everybody ,

please I downloaded all relevnat packages and installed in default dir .

I m launching compling of the full slave example using this command

"projectCreate.bat AMIC11x arm ethercat_slave_full"

I m getting error as in attach , please where am I wrong ?

what shoudl I test ?

It seems you generated the stack source code from SSC and xml file, then "Please note that ecat_def.h generated by SSC tool will not have changes by TI and hence user will have to replace the generated ecat_def.h with the patched ecat_def.h", see processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PRU_ICSS_EtherCAT

Hi Garrett ,

so I am using the Full salve example in the PRU package ( protocols etc ) . I can run the project create no error .

the issue is coming if I import the project in CCS7.4 , I navigatethe directory and import the project no issue in importing

then I try to compile and get plenty of errors ( see in attach ) : it looks some file like "ecat_def.h" file missing

please weher am I wrong ?

Did you follow the section Building full feature EtherCAT Slave Application in the wiki - processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PRU_ICSS_EtherCAT
to:

*Download EtherCAT stack version 5.11 from ETG website and extract it to a local folder.
*Apply ( See Apply instructions below) TI_ECAT.patch file found at [INSTALL-DIR]/third_party/protocols/ethercat_slave/patch on extracted Beckhoff stack code.
*Copy the patched Beckhoff source files (.c and .h) to [INSTALL-DIR]/protocols/ethercat_slave/ecat_appl/EcatStack

Hi Garrett ,

I m one step behind , in the sense I am trying to use ethercat dlave example inside the PRU... package .

so installed CCS , installed SDK and then PRU package

I can run project creat OK , but then the issue in porting in CCS : the .h file as yesterday post seems missing .

please can you help on this ?

Carlo,

As you are building the full stack example project, you have to generate the stack source files which includes the ecat_def.h and copy to EcatStack directory, and then compile and build the CCS project.

Hi Garrett ,
please coudl you elaborate ? which is the command to use ?
I installed tools an able to create project no error ( installation details in previous email but everything is default ) .
about ethercat stack how to compile it ? I cannot find instruction in getting started .
I tried also to build in the workspace of the example , but the include file is missing .

The details of building full stack example as well as generating SSC source files with TI_ECAT.patch is in the wiki - processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PRU_ICSS_EtherCAT

WORKING NOW !
two take aways from me that can help :
- after SDK installation , launch at least once CCS and create a new workspace : this way CCS will link all libs and avoid you any potential issue
-about ethercat pacthes files , copy all .c ad .h not just pacthed
