Help using gadget_hid driver (from kernel 2.6.35) on a DM365 (kernel 2.6.32)

Hi.

I need to use the g_hid (gadget_hid) driver that is a part of Linux kernel ver. 2.6.35, to make my DM365 emulate a keyboard/mouse when connected to a USB host as a gadget.

I installed the latest DVSDK from TI, but unfortunately it has an older kernel version (2.6.32 if I recall correctly) which doesn't have the g_hid driver.

Is there a (relatively easy) way to add this driver to the TI kernel?

Thanks!

  • E M,

The DVSDK is tested and validated on the TI EVM to be working only with the kernel version included.  As such, you will need to rely on the community for help in possibly backporting this driver to the 2.6.32-rc17 kernel.  However, there are no guarantees that this will actually work.
