TDA2P-ABZ: ISP difference between 1 pass and 2 pass WDR mode?

Part Number: TDA2P-ABZ

Doing Object and Lane detection on automotive using TDA2xP + AR0132, we are 3'rd party to support image quality.

As you well know,  WDR is critical issue on this project, i also want to know the difference between 1 and 2 pass WDR.

Thanks In Advance

  • 1-pass and 2-pass WDR image pipes are designed for visual usecases like Mirror replacement and Surround View. 2-Pass WDR is a higher quality process where highlights and lowlights are individually processed and then merged. This is applicable to mirror replacement applications where image quality requirement is the highest

1-pass WDR is a higher performance process designed for applications like surround view, where there are 4-6 cameras being processed on a single ISP.

For OD and LD, please determine how critical is visual image quality and color correctness. If you need CMS like quality, I would suggest using 2-pass image pipe, otherwise 1-pass should be enough.
