Linux/AM5728: CMEM build questions

Hi,

I am using the Beagleboard x15 which has the AM5728 and want to use CMEM for IPC between the A15 and the DSP.

I have the Processor SDK Linux installed and which has the cmem sources at //ti-processor-sdk-linux-am57xx-evm-04.03.00.05/board-support/extra-drivers/cmem-mod-4.14.01.00+gitAUTOINC+b687f3c365/.

So my questions:

1. How to add cmem to my kernel build? Or hwo to built it as a module for my board?

2. Is there any additional configuration to be done or does it work "out of the box"?

Hi, Ewald,

The cmem module is included in the filesystem of the SDK and is ready to use unless you have different configuration on CMEM blocks for your application which needs to modify the dts file. Please refer to the link provided by Ron in previous post. You shouldn't need to rebuild it. For your information, the cmem module can be built from high level (at Processor SDK directory) by issue "make cmem-mod" command. You can find cmem-mod is a target in the Makefile.
