RTOS/TDA2P-ACD: SPI Communication between TDA2Px-EVM and TMS570MCU-EVM

Hello All,

We want to do SPI communication between TDA2Px-EVM and TMS570MCU, we have taken out the required connections (wires) to be done.

We want to know whether we can directly connect the SPI lines of TDA2P to SPI lines of TMS570, for example

TDA2P MISO ---> TMS570 MOSI

TDA2P MOSI ---> TMS570 MISO

& CLOCK lines,

or do we need to add any hardware logic at SPI ports of both EVM's.

Hi Abhay,

I don't have the schematics by hand. Generally, for SPI, you need to check:

- there are the same logic levels: 1.8V, or 3.3V, or 5V, or etc. on both parties for SPI, if false you will need a level translator IC between them

- You didn't mention Chip-Select (CS) in your pin list. you will need one

- don't forget to connect GNDs of both PCBs

With the connections suggested by Stanislav we were able to establish initial communication between TDA2px-EVM and TMS570-EVM. We are using SPI example "mcspi_spi1tospi2" available in PSDK 03.03 at path "ti_components\drivers\pdk_01_09_00_17\packages\ti\drv\bsp_lld\mcspi\examples".
