AM5728: SD card usage for both Linux and RTOS

Hello,

I am using AM5728 EVM and i need help running linux distro on the ARM core and TI RTOS on the dsp at the same time. What is the best way to achieve this? Can i partition the sd card to use linux and TI-RTOS since we have only 1 sd card slot? Is this doable?

Hi Deepthi,

AM572x TI PSDK Linux (link below) provides a heterogenous solution of Coretex-A cores running Linux and C66/M4 cores running RTOS. You can use IPC (Inter-Processor Communication) for multi-core communication.

Thanks!

I will look into the documents suggested in the reply. However, its disappointing though that there is no straight answer to my question. I will need to look up 10 different documents to get to a conclusion.

Deepthi,

Yes, you can use single SD card with two partitions, 1st for u-boot, second for target filesystem (rootfs). The create-sdcard.sh script can do this for you. Then you need to place DSP executable files (.xe66) in this target filesystem. This is for IPC Linux.

For IPC RTOS, you need to load DSP executable files with CCS/JTAG.
